Never Give Up On Your Health And Fitness Goals

Never give up!All of us are well aware that eating right and exercising takes commitment and focus. It requires us to plan out our day, not make excuses and simply suck it up and do it. All of us are also aware of how easy it can be to fall off the wagon and lose focus. If this is YOU, do not worry.

You may know I have been challenging myself to 30 days of no processed foods. I have been posting my food diary on my Facebook page . I have to admit I am surprised at how many of you read it. I told myself I was going to be honest with you about my diary and the foods I have been eating. I am allowed my weekly cheat meal, but in addition to that I have had multiple slip ups. One day I slipped up and ate some of my daughter’s bunny crackers. My husband asked if I was going to skip adding it to Facebook when I posted my diary. I told him I was absolutely going to post my food boo-boo. Facebook is already plagued with people attempting to make us believe they are perfect, and as far as I am concerned, that does not help any of us. As we all know, no one is perfect. I am not saying we should jump on Facebook and complain about how hard life is, but it is certainly a platform that can give us a perfection complex if we believe everything we see.

It is a huge personal, long-term goal of mine to have phenomenal eating habits. Not just for me, but also so I can be an example for our kids. I have come so far in this journey compared to where I was 2-3 years ago. I am in week 3 of my no processed food journey and have found this past week to be the hardest. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit, and it seems that right before you reach that point, you are presented with the biggest challenges. Having impeccable eating habits is not something you find time to do for an hour or two a day. It is all day, every day. It takes a lot of food prep, planning, temptation and incredible will power to say no to food that looks mouth-wateringly delicious. I have so far to go, but have already come so far. I have made mistakes, but am still very proud of myself.

I wanted to write this article to simply remind you to never give up. You may feel you have not made progress toward your goals simply because of mistakes you have made. DO NOT let these mistakes define you. Remember, they are part of the process and serve as more of a test than anything else. If you have already given up, then commit to re-commit. Sometimes we have to prove how bad we want it by having the courage to get back up after we fall. Keep pushing and use every fiber of strength you have to push forward.

You will be amazed to find out how much tenacity you have when you simply keep plugging away. Admit your faults, but never quit.
